The Human Race is an annual event designed to bring nonprofits, businesses and individuals together to raise funds to support the work nonprofits do. This event not only supports nonprofits, it allows businesses to do good work. Businesses can join together with their community to set a goal, raise money and walk with friends, family, neighbors and coworkers.

Everyone participating is there because of a special cause that they support. We get the bonus of a team building event for Berkley Human Services, and it also allows us to give back to our community by interacting with our insured organizations on a personal level.”

Jennifer Kulpa of the Volunteer Center of Sonoma County commented, “It is committed sponsors such as Berkley Human Services that make all the difference in putting on a successful fundraising event. It takes a village to put on the Human Race and the more creative, professional supporters we have the better! For the past five years, Berkley Human Services has enjoyed serving as a water station sponsor as well as sending a dedicated representative to serve on the Human Race Committee. The Sonoma County Human Race continues to be the largest collaborative fundraising event in the county and the greatest Human Race in the nation. The Volunteer Center is grateful for this ongoing support which helps to ensure fundraising success for more than 200 local nonprofits each year.”

Berkley Human Services volunteers and Jeremy Hogan of Arthur J. GallagherAttending and sponsoring the Human Race is a highlight of the year. Berkley Human Services was excited to attend with Jeremy Hogan of Arthur J. Gallagher & Co. Insurance Brokers of CA, Inc. Jeremy said, “I had a blast volunteering this year at the Sonoma Human Race with the fun folks from Berkley Human Services! They had a bunch of volunteers helping pass out water and working their booth. It was nice to spend time walking around the marketplace meeting the many amazing nonprofits of Sonoma County! Everyone loved the corn hole set up at Berkley Human Services’ booth and I was able to meet a number of happy participants who walked away with free Gallagher and BHS gear! My family even took part and ran in the race! It was a fun, inspiring time for all of us!”
